Dr Craig L Fry, Senior Research Fellow at the Children's Bioethics Centre, Murdoch Children's Research Institute and Centre for Applied Philosophy & Public Ethics, University of Melbourne
Craig is an academic and practice background in psychology, public health and applied ethics and has worked in a variety of settings including community/NGOs, university, prison, and policy.
Craig's special areas of expertise include alcohol and drugs, ethical issues in health research with vulnerable populations, values and ethics in health, and methods development in health research and health promotion. He has published widely on these topics having authored more than 70 peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters and monographs, and numerous other government reports, policy submissions and other articles.
Craig's previous work has included the development of health research ethics guidelines and practice codes for the alcohol and drugs setting. He has also been a founding member of a number of applied health ethics interest groups and development committees at the local, national and international level.
His current NHMRC public health fellowship (2008-12) is examining how different models of identity and participation influence health research, practice and policy in the alcohol and drug field.
